Most Irritating Grammatical Errors Vol 1

This is #1 of a series highlighting highly off-putting grammatical errors that are all too often used by even some of the most educated bloggers.

As unfortunately common as the usage of these may be, they will undoubtedly irritate many of your readers to the point of no longer taking you seriously. Avoid using  these like the plague.

Irregardless - Like nails on a chalkboard, this insidious double negative incites immediate irritation to the eyes and ears of most educated readers and/or listeners.

The reason I refer to this particular "non-word" as "insidious" is because, unlike many others in its class, it manages to plague the written and spoken language of even some of the most educated bloggers.

Worse yet, for some unknown reason, an unsettling number of them want to defend their usage of this non-word, almost invariably causing further damage to their credibility.

Who would have thought that a non-slur that is not directly used to insult or belittle could be so poisonous?
